Steven De GC is an Australian educational platform founded by a primary school teacher Steven Huynh, dedicated to harnessing the power of storytelling to enhance learning. By aligning children’s literature with the Australian Curriculum (AC), it suggests educators books and learning resources that suit their professional needs. Through its own line of picture books and comprehensive teaching materials, Steven De GC transforms storytelling into a dynamic tool for meaningful education.
Huynh believes storytelling is an amazing and artistic way to convey ideas with lasting impact. As the oldest form of education, storytelling continues to play a vital role across many areas of life, from social media to education. In marketing, it enhances emotional connections between a brand and its audience, making messages more engaging and memorable. In education, it fosters emotional and intellectual engagement, builds empathy, simplifies complex ideas, and supports long-term learning. Storytelling is also central to Indigenous Australian culture, a deeply respected and living tradition for preserving history, passing down laws, and sharing cultural knowledge.
In September 2023, Huynh founded Steven De GC after struggling to find children’s books that aligned with the AC and his teaching goals. His idea was simple: to make it easier for teachers to find texts directly linked to curriculum descriptors.
Looking for children’s books that match the Australian Curriculum’s content descriptors with linked resources?
By April 2024, another gap became clear. Some AC codes had no suitable storybooks at all. In response, Steven De GC expanded its mission to include publishing original children’s books and creating free resources that not only align with the AC but also promote meaningful life values for both students and the adults around them. To date, we’re proud to have published three titles:
- Noah: The Dog of the Anzac Spirit (2024) – Discontinued. A second edition is currently in development.
- Just Enough (2024)
- The Shouting Girl (2025)
Steven De GC donates a portion of profits to trusted organisations that support children in need. Find out more at children’s welfare.
In January 2025, taking the mission further, Steven De GC began developing story-based learning resources for children’s books by a wide range of Australian and international authors, bringing children’s books and education even closer together.

At Steven De GC, we never know what projects or missions we will take on next. Life is an open book! So, stay tuned and be inspired!
